Psychological assessment is a process of testing that uses an arrangement of procedures to help arrive at some hypotheses about a person and their behavior, personality and capabilities. Psychological testing is nearly always performed by a licensed psychologist, licensed psychological associate, psychometrist, or a psychology trainee (such as an intern). About Neuropsychological Assessments

Psychological and Neuropsychological assessment is the essential road map as it helps clinical professionals, treatment programs, and educational institutions to develop treatment planning and ensure treatment is effective and efficient.

Neuropsychological assessments are designed to examine a variety of cognitive abilities, including speed of information processing, attention, memory, language, and executive functions, which are necessary for goal-directed behavior. By testing a range of cognitive abilities and analyzing patterns of performance in different cognitive areas, clinicians can make inferences about underlying brain function. Neuropsychological testing is an important component of the assessment and treatment of traumatic brain injury, dementia, neurological conditions, and psychiatric disorders. Neuropsychological testing is also an important tool for examining the effects of toxic substances and medical conditions on brain functioning as well as identifying cognitive strengths and weaknesses of an individual.
